Using Chitika | Linx & Google Adsense
November 7th, 2007
17 commentsYesterday the newly redesigned
Chitika | Linx ad unit was released to the Chitika publisher network. Linx first launched in May of this year and was released only to a select group of publishers for testing. Now after some upgrades in design and function, all Chitika users can grab this cool PPC unit.
So now everyone wants to know- is the new Chitika | Linx compatible with Google Adsense?
The answer is yes, you can use it with Google Adsense. Based on the changes in the terms of service of Google (in the last few months), we believe this is 100% compatible.
Get Linx
Linx has a neat preview tool that shows how Linx will look on your blog right within the code panel. Login, click the “Linx Code” tab, enter your blog URL and click Preview!

I like the idea but wonder where you paste the code. I blog with typepad.

I’ve made more with it than with Kontera. Unfortunately, the targeting is terrible. I blog about health and keep getting ads about keyboards and processors etc. Hope it gets better.

Hey ascetic,
I’ve been looking around your site, and have yet to see this issue. Can you please provide an example? I am happy to get to the bottom of this.

Hi Ada (#5)—
We are in the process up upgrading linx. Targeting should be helped in this release. In addition, we will soon implement categories, which should help if the next release does not help enough… stay tuned!

[…] Theres a news Chikita Links program that has redesigned contextual advertising for theres ads; however, my question is emphatically, does this violate Google AdSense Terms Of Service??? Well, Daniel from Chikita Customer Service wrote me and said: “It does not, in fact violate Google’s Terms of Service. Check out our blog post on this subject for more information: http://chitika.com/blog/?p=306″. […]

I am looking at transitioning to Linx from another service. Is there a way to restrict the ads from sections of the page and/or allow them to run in certain sections? There are areas of my pages that I don’t want ads.

Hi Dave,
If you go into the code panel, you will see that we support both include classes (a whitelist of HTML classes we will highlight) and exclude classes (a blacklist of HTML classes we will not highlight).
I hope this answers your question,
Mike
