What the f#@% is going on at Chitika?

Chitika Evolves with changes in the New Marketplace

It’s not all about CPC’s anymore - different types of clicks are attracting different types of revenue. Advertisers are willing to pay on a CPC-basis for clicks from search traffic, and on a CPA basis for clicks from non-search traffic.
We at Chitika responded with changes to our advertising program to better match up the right clicks with the right type of revenue in today’s marketplace. In particular, there were 3 major changes that lead to exciting new opportunities:
1. A larger, diverse set of advertisers spanning all topics and categories
2. The next generation of eMiniMalls - Chitika|Premium - not just restricted to product offers anymore
3. A new behavioral targeting platform, to track and match different types of click traffic (i.e. - search and non-search traffic) with the right offers (i.e. - CPC, CPA and CPM offers).
Change is the only constant factor at Chitika. We will always barge ahead and evolve with the changes in the marketplace to open up the best possible opportunities for our publishers. Let it rip.
-Venkat Kolluri, CEO Chitika Inc.

Venkat - thanks for showing up on this blog. Finally ;-)
So far, the premium format is working out great for me. I do lot of SEO shit and it works great for search engine traffic.
But, revenue on my cell phone forum is gone down the drain. I wish you could do something for forums.

I second that. My average CPC on a product review site has more than halved and so has my revenue.
I now earn more by just sending people to Amazon.com through my affiliate links…
You may be looking at a snowball effect since many of us will slowly but surely start removing the eMiniMalls from our sites.

I already removed all eMinimalls from my websites because my revenue has dropped about more than 50% during the last 2 months.
And I am not the only one… read the numerous posts in the digitalpoint-forum…

Great feature but I am wondering that why my Chitika eMiniMalls referral link = demo, not my ID as usual?
Thanks

Same here..
Revenue has gone down about 75%..
We’re all gonna head over to the competition if you guys don’t do something *SOON*

mine is dropping too

Why wait? They aren’t going to change this. The blog post says that its constant. I’ve already went to the competition.

I show drops in revenue between 30%-70% over both minimalls and linx.. Very disappointing

Yep, same here. The US revenues went down by 90% and Europe decreased by 75%. Change is normal in this business but even so reliability remains a primary objective between business partners. As a minimum requirement changes and their consequences should be communicated some time prior of the actual event so we’ve at least the chance to react. It was a nice time but it seems as if the caravan must move on now …

Glad to see some explanations. While we’re being transparent, what happened to Chitika for Domains?
Why did Chitika Parking start out with very good images & ads, good CPCs, and then abruptly decline to what it is now?

Massive decreases in revenue here too (about 80%). We’re in the process of migrating our ads to other services too. One test ad from a competitor makes more than the 20 ads we still run from Chitika. I’m sure you can guess where the Chitika ads are headed…

I have got the same problem with my chitika earnings. The average cpc in my niche was about $0,20 (not amazingly high) and now i will be happy if i average $0,10.
So Chitika do something about this…!!!!
