Chitika|Premium ad unit placement tips
June 24th, 2008
45 commentsWhat? You haven’t heard about the newest ad unit available from Chitika (which is yielding high eCPM’s for publishers)? Here’s the latest on Chitika|Premium in case you missed it…
Chitika|Premium placement heat map:

Win-Win Ad Unit
Because Chitika|Premium is behaviorally targeted on your pages, users will see optimized results that converts into great revenue for you. When we’re unable to “target” the ad unit, the ad simply collapses into nothing, leaving your page looking like the ad was never there. This is where the other part of “winning” comes into place: You can set an alternate URL for this ad unit so you can earn revenue no matter what.

@GL -
You are in the best position to choose where you want to place the ads (it is your site!). You can see where we recommend you place them above.

I already use google adsense ads. Do you know if one will penalize the other? In other words, do you know if google will penalize me if I add Chitika ads now, or vice versa?

Please say how to display chitika ads on my blog?
i registered as a publisher more than one week before but i cannot activate chitika ad in my blog.
how can my blog get search engine traffic please help me.
January 26th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
@sirisha
If you have been approved for a Chitika account you can login with your username and password here: https://chitika.com/affiliate/user.php
Once logged in, click the “Get Code” tab then the Premium code button to get your Premium code then paste it on your site.
If you have already done this and you are asking why you are not able to see the ad on your website, it is because Premium ads ONLY display to your search engine traffic from US and Canada. So to see your ads, you will need to enter your site via a search engine or to see a sample of the ad, simply add the following text to the end of your site URL and refresh your page (F5 twice just to be sure):
http://www.YourWebsite.com#chitikatest=finance
In place of “finance” use a keyword that would match the content of your site for more relevant ads to your page.
Hope this helps,
Karla Escolas

A lot of users do Scanning, (see above link), Heat Maps show area’s most viewed in limited time.
If content is good then users may stay longer and the Heat Map may change as that user lookes around the site.

Keep this fundamental in mind: Only change one element at a time and then test. This will enable you to get a better idea on the incremental change/improvement relationships.

I noticed the graphic too, a little blurred perhaps and maybe created using Paint. Anyway nice heat map, I didn’t know that it existed.

I have to disagree with “don’t bother” zones for ads which we can see on image. On my website I have some ads in these zones and they works good for me.
