Chitika banks on NOT showing ads

When its smart to show an ad and when it’s wise NOT to…
The constant question throughout advertising has been and always will be “what type of ad should I show on my website?” As an ad network, we’re sensitive to this question for our users, but also aware of it as we cater to our users. As we took a step back to analyze the situation we realized that in order for our publishers to use their ad spaces to its fullest potential we had to make a fundamental change in the way we display ads in these spaces.
The majority of online ad budgets are wasted on mismatched ads which results in a lower potential of revenue for online publishers. So we decided to change our strategy; from deciding WHICH ad to display, to WHEN to display ads. This paved the way for a new technology you can find in our Chitika | Premium ad units – the industry’s first intelligent collapsing ad units, designed to only show up for targeted website visitors.
We are honored that this technology is why Chitika was selected as a
Red Herring 100 Global ‘08 finalist. Venkat Kolluri, Chitika’s CEO, will be presenting at the Red Herring conference in San Diego on January 15th.

Kudos!!! Chitika…
I am a new kid on the block and I am sure Chitika is a better option for me along with adsence. Chitika Premium targets search engine traffic of USA and Canada only,so it is very necessary to make websites search engine friendly.I think that Google Analytics may be a good tool for monitoring the search engine traffic of your website from this countries.Chitika is friendly to content rich sites and If you can improve your search engine rankings it will be more beneficial.

2 things you need to take advantage of this Chitika approach;
1. rich contents
2. lots of traffic from US and Canada

I wonder how I can always get my Chitika ads to show, just like CoolChaser.com does, even if people are not coming from search engines. I noticed CoolChaser has their ad code enabled to show regardless if ppl come from search engines. How can I do that too?

@Shawn,
He is running the regular Premium ad code. You probably saw the ad after you did a search in his on-site search box, which displays a Premium ad.
(on-site search had to be enabled on our end) however, if you have Google Custom Search running on your site then the Premium will display as if someone was entering the page from the main search engine itself.

Hey, is there a section just for latest news

@Daniel,
You can click on one of the categories in the right sidebar to narrow it down a bit.
But I do like the idea of a “new tab” of some sort of just latest news.. I’ll pass that one on, thanks

We are starting to get feedback about Chitika but need to confirm the codes are all running ok on all our AXJ websites around the world. Best wishes.

I think the hardest thing in niche marketing is finding the right formula for keywords and niche videos.
