Chitika & Bing Getting Along Just Fine

June 18th, 2009

“Bing!”  That sound is a brand new search engine (sorry, “Decision Engine”) from Microsoft leaping into the fray and making everyone’s life a little more Microsoft-y.  Launched in late May, Bing has started taking searches away from reigning powerhouses Google and Yahoo! - and it works great with Chitika | Premium ads.

As much as we love search, and as much as we live by the power of search engines, you didn’t really think we’d be unable to serve ads to Bing traffic, did you?  It’s an exciting new tool that Microsoft hopes will revolutionize the way people search on the Internet.  We’re all over that.

Plus, when I went to grab this screenshot, they had a picture of Boston (where Chitika lives) as the main image.  It was like fate telling us “Yeah, Chitika and Bing work well together.”

So, if your site is getting traffic from Bing, that’s great - your Chitika | Premium ads will continue to show up and be exactly what your site visitors are searching for.

Yeah, I am getting traffic from bing for my websites, they are fast and I am sure they will be big search engines beside Google and yahoo

  6. Rajeev Singh Says:

Great news!! Hope to see my bing traffic bring more chitika revenues :)

  7. Oskaya Says:

Ya great news for this one.

  8. oscarz Says:

I am trying to maintain a publisher affiliate site, so far no much luck, I came across chitika.com, but I have a big warning from my virus shield (Mcafee), is it a serious matter, something that I should be concern before I sign up?

  9. Dan Ruby Says:

@oscarz I wouldn’t be concerned - what happened was one of our ads got flagged by McAfee about three weeks ago (before we killed the ad ourselves), and we’ve been talking w/McAfee ever since trying to get the warning removed. I can say with certainty that it’s not a serious matter - McAfee is pretty aggressive, understandably so, and it takes time to convince them you’re safe.

Long story short, though, we’re safe. The McAfee alert should be gone within a couple of days (process is a long one, but we’re wrapping it up)

  10. Gerri - Ninety Nine Ways Says:

Well thats a very good thing. I have noticed that I am slowly but surely getting more and more traffic from Bing! They seem to be putting in a lot of hard work in catching up to the likes of Google.

  11. bobby Says:

I hope bing can be different from google

  12. Nevis1 Says:

I noticed Bing within hours of their launch sending traffic to my site, that MSN or Live had never sent me before. It appears as though Bing really is something different.

  13. A4D Says:

Is Bing the new name for MSN live or is that something else?

    A4D

  14. GamingProject Administrator Says:

@oscarz: I’d just remove McAfee all together and get AVG or some other virus protector(NOT NORTON).

Anyway, I’ve just started using the Chitika ads. Hope I can get enough traffic to the site to earn some money. :)

Oh, and MSN Live is still a search engine, Bing is just another search engine out there…

  15. A4D Says:

    Thanks GPA

yet both are owned by the same Microsoft?

  16. Delords The Blogger Says:

That’s a great news for us.
I actually love how Bing works and
really its pulling google to the walls.

Hope the traffic helps us a lot.

  17. GamingProject Administrator Says:

A nice thing for Bing to do is to make a ’simple’ search page, kinda like Google.

Not too many images on the page. The reason I’d prefer Google over Bing is simply Google runs faster.

    ~GPA~

  18. Rin Says:

The mouse-over ad is quite refreshing. I like it. This one might be a keeper.

  19. Rin Says:

Sorry my mistake, the mouse over was for further description and more links to the searched websites.

  20. Microsoft (Bing) and Yahoo Deal Says:

After recent news about Microsoft and Yahoo deal, to me it looks like all this about is giving answer to Google.
As for now: Google has 70% of search market and Yahoo with Bing around 26%.
From now on we should think about Bing as Yahoo (or vice versa).

  21. Jimisan Says:

Getting traffic from Bing is definitely good news. But getting targetted visitors that convert is of UTMOST importance. Just like Traffic Exchanges you can get thousands of visitors but no buyers, what’s the point?

  22. Alden DoRosario Says:

@Jimisan, I agree. And there is nothing more targeted than users using their fingers to type in their intent (like how they do in Google, Yahoo and Bing). Intent = Conversions and happy advertisers.

  23. CollectFortune Says:

I totally agreed with Jimisan. It is much harder to get people buy stuffs online than they just stumble across my website like http://www.collectfortune.com. How do you boot more traffic to my website? I already try the basic methods but it seems not good.

  24. CollectFortune Says:

I meant How do you boot more traffic to your website beside the basic methods? like this site http://www.collectfortune.com and convice people to buy.
