My CTR is 6% one and 2% the next up and down throughout the month. How do you fix that?

SUMMARY:

What’s the difference between an “impression” and a “page view”? Are “unique IP addresses” the same as “unique visitors”? Even the Chitika reports have impressions, clicks, CTR, Avg CPC and eCPM. What is all this stuff?

hit –
each file loaded when one site page loads (html+graphics).

page view –
each html file loaded.

unique IP address –
unique visitor.

impression –
number of times an ad is shown (often equals page views).

clicks –
number of times ad was clicked.

click-thru-rate (CTR) –
% ratio.
clicks divided by impressions.

average cost-per-click –
value of each click.
$ amount. (usually pennies).
earnings divided by clicks.

effective cost per thousand impressions (eCPM) -
$ amount.
earnings divided by impressions times 1,000.

We are not yet working on giving a dedicated advertisers choice for our network. But don’t rule it out for the future of Chitika!
