Internet Privacy Forum Highlights Chitika’s Responsible Data Collection in Case Study

  • 9 December 2013

Do you value your privacy? Of course you do – and so we! Which is why we were honored to have our privacy practices dissected and commended in a case study by the website All About Do Not Track.

Run by the Future of Privacy Forum, All About Do Not Track works to spread the awareness and adoption of responsible data collection practices relating to Do Not Track. Their Chitika case study goes in depth about how our company handles privacy enhancers like Do Not Track headers and opt-out cookies. It answers questions that many users have the right to know about: For example, what happens when Chitika detects that a user has enabled a DNT header? What about when we detect an opt-out cookie? The case study breaks down our procedure into technical, albeit easy-to-understand, steps.

Being touted as an example for other companies to follow is a wonderful feeling, and we hope that by shedding light on our own methods, we can help other companies implement more responsible data collection practices.
