As the technical leader, you will implement cutting edge web applications for a high volume SaaS platform in collaboration with data solutions and Operations team. In this role you’ll:
• Collaborate with other functional groups like Operations, Engineering and Product management.
• Develop massively scalable web server applications using the latest Open source technologies (think: node.js, redis, Couchbase, hadoop, etc)
• Be an active participant in code reviews and retrospectives
• Mentor Junior software engineer.
• Help create next generation of Chitika architecture.
Requirements:
Ideally, you will have a relevant Degree (Computer Science or Computer Engineering) or experience in a similar role but your passion for programming is the key!
Have 5 or more years experience in one of the following; Perl, Python, Java, C#, C++, PHP and a desire to learn new things
More than 2 years experience working with MYSQL or other open source databases.
In-depth knowledge of LAMP stack, open source software and modern web applications built on distributed service architecture
Comfortable traversing the whole Web stack: client-side through the persistence layer
Craftsmanship level commitment to quality software
Ability to profile, optimize, and tune for performance
Ideally you have experience with SaaS applications or applications that require massive scaling.

About you. . .
• 2+ years of experience in the online marketing industry with a passion for new ideas and innovative ways to target and engage with audiences
• Solid understanding of content strategy and corresponding funnel optimization

Day to Day at Cidewalk. . .
You will report to the Head of Marketing and be responsible for a variety of on and offline marketing initiatives, including:
• Develop and execute marketing campaigns and programs for Cidewalk across online (SEM/SEO), and offline (TV, Radio, and print) channels
• Manage content and processes for all Cidewalk channels including website, social media and landing pages
• Manage marketing processes across social media and micro sites.
• Track and report on campaigns based on KPIs and provide data driven recommendations
• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure marketing content and collateral is current and consistent with brand and product goals
• Oversee the development and execution all external marketing communications including written (emails, eBook's) and design templates as needed
• Support Business Development as needed with competitive analysis, product overview and pitch decks

Requirements

- have system administration experience on Linux - we run Debian, but we're Ubuntu fans as well
- have working knowledge of any of the well known configuration management tools - we have everything setup in Puppet today
- have strong experience with high traffic web environments
- we push several gigabits of traffic outbound per second and have on average over 100,000 HTTP requests per second at peak (this keeps growing every month)
- growing by several terabytes of data per month - we've had some interesting challenges with big data!
- we use HAproxy, Nginx, Django, RabbitMQ, Memcached, Redis, PostgreSQL and Gluster on Infiniband as backend storage to support our stack. We dont use Hadoop - we wrote our own Hadoop Alternative that is 40 times faster.
- have experience monitoring and optimizing production servers

- build the next generation of our production infrastructure to support both a production and disaster recovery site
- the developers are busy breaking our application into various micro services that will allow us to use technologies such as Docker to possibly scale our infrastructure - following the twelve factor app manifesto scale and optimize existing critical production systems
- support our infrastructure and services to maximize uptime and minimize impact to customers
- develop modules for our configuration management system
- manage your workload, balancing major improvements with 3rd-level production issues
- work closely with the developers on projects
- carry out maintenance and be part of an on-call escalations roster
